Spin for an aesthetic
Spin and the wheel lands on an aesthetic, with a quick description of what it looks like. It’s a fun way to try a new style, plan a mood board or dress a character. There are three lists:
- Aesthetics: cottagecore, dark academia, Y2K, coquette, cyberpunk, goblincore and more.
- Fashion styles: streetwear, preppy, bohemian, punk, western, romantic.
- Room styles: Scandinavian, Japandi, coastal, maximalist, retro ’70s.
Ways to use the wheel of styles
Outfit challenge. Spin and build an outfit from your own closet in that style. Post it, or just see if you like it.
Mood board. Spin an aesthetic and collect ten images that fit it: colors, places, clothes, objects.
Room refresh. Spin a room style and change three small things to match it, like a throw, a lamp and some art.
Character design. Give an original character an aesthetic, then spin hair color and hairstyle to match.
Tip: Spin two aesthetics and mix them. Dark academia plus cyberpunk, or cottagecore plus Y2K, makes for a surprisingly fun drawing or outfit prompt.
