Spin for a random birthday
Spin and the wheel lands on a date: any of the 366 days of the year. With that many slices the dates are tiny, so watch the large text under the wheel, which shows the date under the pointer as it slows down. There are four lists:
- Any day of the year: January 1 to December 31, including February 29.
- Month: just the month.
- Day of the month: 1 to 31.
- Day of the week: Monday to Sunday.
Ideas for a birthday wheel
- Character birthdays: give an original character a birthday, then a zodiac sign to match.
- Unbirthday party: spin a random date and celebrate it like a birthday.
- Guess the birthday: spin secretly, and others guess the month, then the day, with higher or lower hints.
- Party planning: spin a weekday for the party, or a date for a group trip.
Tip: Want a date in a specific month? Choose Month, spin, then choose Day of the month and spin again. If you land on a date that doesn’t exist, like April 31, spin again.
The birthday problem
Here’s a fun fact for a class: in a group of just 23 people, there’s about a 50% chance that two of them share a birthday. Try it with the wheel: spin 23 times and look for a match in the Results tab. It happens more often than you’d expect.
