Spin for a superpower
Spin and the wheel hands you a superpower. Use it for a story, a character, a game night debate or just to imagine your day differently. There are four lists:
- Classic: flight, invisibility, teleportation, super speed and more.
- Elemental: fire, water, ice, lightning, plants, shadow, gravity.
- Unusual: time freeze, portal making, power copying, dream walking.
- Useless powers: always know the time, find lost socks, talk only to ducks.
Superpower games
Most powerful. Everyone spins Classic, Elemental and Unusual once each. Then argue why your combination beats everyone else’s. Vote for the winner.
Hero or villain. Spin a power, then spin the personality wheel for a trait. Decide whether that combination makes a hero or a villain, and why.
Useless power round. Everyone spins Useless powers and has 30 seconds to explain how they’d save the world with it.
Tip: For a writing prompt, spin a power and a flaw together. A teleporter who is always late, or a fire-wielder who is terrified of heat, is a story waiting to be written.
For writers and artists
Design a hero in a few spins: power here, then hair color, eye color and a costume idea from the aesthetic wheel. Draw them with the what to draw wheel for a scene.
In the classroom
Ask students to spin a power and write a paragraph about the first day they discovered it. It’s a fun warm-up for narrative writing, and the useless powers list always gets a laugh.
