How to play charades with the wheel
- Split into two teams and pick who acts first.
- The actor spins. The category shows on the wheel for everyone, like Animals or Jobs.
- Only the actor taps Reveal and reads the secret word, then taps Done.
- Act it out, no talking. The team has a minute to guess. A correct guess wins a point.
The result is hidden until you tap Reveal, so the actor can spin with everyone watching and still keep the word secret.
Three ready-made lists
- Mixed: animals, actions, jobs, sports, things and classic stories, fifteen words each.
- Kids: easy words for young players, including a Pretend category with robots, pirates and dragons.
- Animals: animal charades by type: farm, wild, pets, ocean, birds and bugs.
Tip: Play animal charades with toddlers by letting them make the animal’s sound too. Older kids play by the strict rule: no sounds at all.
Classic charades signals
- Number of words: hold up that many fingers.
- Which word: hold up fingers again for the word you’re acting.
- Sounds like: cup a hand behind your ear.
- Short word: hold your thumb and finger close together.
- The whole thing: sweep your arms in a big circle.
Make your own categories
Switch to the list view and click the speech bubble next to a category to edit its words. Add a new slice for your family’s favorite movies, your class’s vocabulary words, or a holiday theme. Words stay hidden until Reveal, whatever you add.
Pictionary, too
The same words work for drawing games. Spin, reveal, and draw instead of act. For more party games, try the dare wheel or the conversation wheel.
